What comes first? The Chicken, or the Egg?
That’s the dilemma business owners face. Here’s how you can solve it.
(In this post I explain that you can get up to $150 in free advertising credit from Google that you can use to test the viability of Google AdWords for your business)
I can sit down with you and show you how the numbers work out to where you can get over a 300% ROI on Google AdWords. But in order to receive a Return on Investment, you have to make the initial Investment.
The problem for many business owners is taking that initial leap of faith and spending that first $1,000 or so on their first Google search engine advertising campaign.
We’re all sensible people here, though. We all respect the value of one single dollar. Let alone $1,000.
It can be tough for some to let loose of one month’s mortgage if they don’t believe in digital marketing.
That’s why in this post I tell you how you can test Google AdWords search engine advertising with just $100.
And, get a FREE $75 (at least)… courtesy of the nice folks over at Google.
“We all respect the value of one single dollar.”
You can then test the system of Google AdWords for your business to see if it’s something you’re comfortable with for your business.
Take this example.
A dentist where my brother lives in Pasadena, TX, could set up a campaign right now that would cost about $100 a month.
This campaign would include an area of about 50,000 people and 26 Dental Services related keywords that people search for when looking for a dentist.
According to Google’s data, we could get up to 105 clicks to our dental website in one month with a $109 budget.
Now let’s suppose we get half of those clicks and we end up with 50 clicks to our dental website for that $109.
The average conversion rate for dentists is around 6%, meaning that about 3 out of every 50 people who click our Google Ad will actually pick up the phone and call us when they go to our website.
Using a Google tracking number, we can track how many phone calls our $100 generated.
Let’s imagine that your campaign performed averagely, and your $100 yielded 50 clicks to your website and 3 phone calls (and let’s hope one of those 3 calls booked an appointment!)
You now have concrete results that shows you that the system of Google AdWords can work to help you grow your business.
Or, maybe your campaign didn’t yield any results and you can do some further exploring to find out if AdWords is a good fit for your business.
The best part is, once we spend that first $100, Google will match up to that $100 with a FREE credit. Sometimes it’s $100, sometimes it’s $75, sometimes it’s $150! It just depends on how Google is feeling at that time. But you can’t beat a deal where you get to test a marketing strategy and get free money from Google.
Usually, Google will send you this offer via email once you’ve signed up for AdWords or Google Analytics, or claiming your business on Google Maps or Google+. Many times when you claim your business on Google Maps they will send you a coupon in the mail for up to $150.
“find out if Google AdWords is a good fit for your business”
If you don’t have any luck getting your credits in the ways detailed above, you can always call Google at 877-906-7955 and ask for the maximum credit they will give you. Their customer service is usually impeccable.
Before I end this post, it is very important that I make sure you understand that I am not trying to lead you to believe that $100 or $200 is an adequate budget for Google AdWords campaigns.
This is not a bait and switch where I convince you that you can do something for $100 only to convince you later that you have to spend thousands. This is simply a very effective way to concept test Google AdWords to give yourself a feel of how it can work for your business.
